- For the apple strudel recipe with filo pastry preheat the oven to 200 °, line the baking sheet with baking paper. Peel the apples and remove the core. Cut apples into small pieces, mix them with raisins, almonds, sugar, rum, and cinnamon.
- Melt the butter. Spread the filo pastry sheets on a kitchen towel, letting the edges of the dough overlap. Brush the dough with the liquid butter and sprinkle with the hazelnuts.
- Spread the apples over the dough, leaving one edge blank. Lift one side of the kitchen towel, roll up the strudel and place on the baking sheet. Fold the ends down. Whisk the egg yolk and brush the strudel with it. Bake in the oven (center, fan oven 180 °) in 35-45 minutes until golden brown. Dust with icing sugar to serve. Tastes warm and cold.
