25 carrot
½ tbsp peas, frozen
25 small onion
25 tbsp soy sauce
25 tbsp Chinese wine or sherry
75 tbsp tomato sauce
½ tbsp vinegar
½ tbsp sugar
46,25 ml water
25 tbsp corn starch
½ tbsp cold water
½ tbsp peanut oil
25 clove garlic, crushed
63 tsp ginger root, finely grated
½ tbsp melon slices or pieces as desired

  1. For the sweet and sour sauce without pineapple peel the carrot and cut it into thin slices. Bring light saltwater to a boil, boil the carrot and peas in it for two minutes, drain and pour into cold water so that the color remains.
  2. Peel and quarter the onion and divide the quarters again. Separate the individual layers. Mix the soy sauce, wine, tomato sauce, vinegar, sugar, and water, stir until the sugar has dissolved. Mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water.
  3. Heat the oil, add the garlic, ginger, onions, carrots and peas and stir-fry for two minutes. Add the combined sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Then add the cornstarch, bring to the boil while stirring and let it thicken. Remove from the stove and add the melon pieces. Keep warm. Ready and very tasty.
